"poor cons :( Aug 14, '05 10:22 PM ET
for everyone
i was awaken at 4 am by my poor baby constantine pacing around my room... (his dog collar has a bell and i really don't usually fall into a deep sleep at night ) i observed him for a while if he was feeling the floor coz i thought maybe he wants to pee and he only pees on rough surfaces but he wasn't. instead, he looked as if he was going to throw up! i turned my lights on and he continued trying to throw up but all he puked were droplets of yellowish fluid... i wonder what's wrong with my baby... i brought him outside coz i thought maybe he'll pee or something or perhaps drink water so he'll feel a little better. but when we went outside, he chewed on grass. i just allowed him to do so coz my cousin and my boyfriend who are both dog lovers told me that dogs really chew on grass when they're sick. dogs are self-medicating and they know the right type of plants to eat when they're sick that they know would help them feel better. after about an hour, he was done with his self-medicating grass eating and so we returned to my room and thankfully, he fell into a deep sleep after a while. i already brought him to the vet yesterday and found out that he has fever so we were given some vitamins and medicines for him to take. he willingly took his vitamins yesterday and i've given him a shot of his medicine just a while ago but he didn't want to take his vitamins today... how can he get well if doesn't want to eat anything and drink his medicine... i don't know what to do with him... i noticed yesterday that he had appetite after we took him out for a little walk. so later, since i'm going out with my hubby, i asked his mommy maid to talk him out for a walk and hopefully with a little exercise and increased appetite after, he'll get well soon..."

another update on BoAnyway, here are more pictures of Bo...
Thursday, August 11, 2005
Goodbye Cons (For Real)!Cons has already been brought to his adoptive mother Sherri as of 10:00am today. She's perfect for Cons as well and I'm glad she's the one getting him. I have great faith in her, just like my faith in Val. Minor problem lang...she's from DLSU unlike me and Val. haha! =) So Cons will be cheering for the green shirts during UAAP. haha!!
SO anyway, I wasn't there but I had someone drop him off. According to my driver, Cons was crying when he saw my driver walking away so he had to come back and carry Cons again. haha, seperation anxiety. BUt he'll be okay. Just like Bo.
I'm back to two dogs (my own). The house suddenly seems so quiet, especially without Cons. He's the one making all the racket in this house, knocking on the doors, barking and yipping.
I'm really glad I got to know these two dogs and find great homes for them.
GOODBYE BO and CONS!!!!

another update on Bo and RitterAnyway, Ritter and Bo got into two fights this Sunday... The first fight happened when my sister was giving Ritter a piece of chicken. It fell to the floor so Bo attempted to grab it. Unexpectedly, Ritter got mad so the two dogs fought. I was kind of hoping that Bo would learn not to grab food from Ritter anymore but Bo still eats from Ritter's food bowl and still attempts to grab food from Ritter when someone gives him food haha :P Now, we make it a point to give Ritter food first (if we're giving it using our hands) before Bo coz we want Bo to know that Ritter's the alpha dog.
The other fight they got into was not over food...Bo was biting his blankie when Ritter decided that he wanted to play so Ritter was sort of scratching Bo's tummy which (I think) means that he wanted Bo to play with him. Bo got mad coz he wanted to just nibble on his blankie so they got into a fight again! Luckily, it just lasted for a few seconds and they were both okay. After that, they were friends again :)

more pictures of Bo"Hmm...do I smell something funny?"
1st two pictures on top: Ritter and Bo on the bed
center: Ritter and Bo kissing :*
last two pictures: keeping each other company
taking a nap after playing and chasing each other around the house
Here are some pictures of Bo's first few days in his new home :)
He was usually hiding under the table, lying down or sleeping. He seemed unhappy and whenever my dog would go near him, he would growl. We decided to bring him to the vet and discovered that he had fever, hookworms and lots of ticks so the doctor gave us medicine to make him feel better.

Feisty ConstantineConstantine's potential adoptive mother dropped by the house just a while ago. She was supposed to bring home Cons already but we decided it wasn't the best time for her to bring him home. She needed for him to get used to her first.
He was pleasant at first cause he saw that she had food...aba, vienna sausage pa. And he ate ALL of it, without any care in the world. After that, we placed doggie food on her hand and Cons ate off her hand. But still after all the food was gone, he would still bark at her though Cons would already lie down in front of her. He didn't allow her to be carried by her...that'll change when Cons gets to know her. Sometimes he won't even let me carry him. Too bad Cons is not as easy to take care of as Bo. So knowing this, whoever wants to adopt Cons, must know that it's a real commitment, but it's sure worth it when you have Cons at your home.
Here's Cons wearing someone's underwear. haha!
As of last night, Bo has a new home already. Val (his adoptive mother) has finally decided to keep him for good.
She texted me last night and said Bo was feeling much better. The day before, she texted me that Bo was sick and had fever and hookworms so she brought him to the vet. They gave him vaccination shots and another dose of de-worming medicine. So last night, he was already feeling much better. He was already playing with her dog and he had a bigger appetite so I'm glad.
She said I could visit him. Hopefully, I can find the time to visit him.
I'll miss you Bo!!!! I LOVE YOU!!! I'll never forget you!!!!
I'm glad Bo has a home already. I know Val is the right person cause I didn't even know he had hookworms. I haven't had time to check up on them closely cause I'm so busy at work and with preparations for my departure. It's so hard to check on 4 dogs everyday. haha! =)
No worries. Constantine is happy and healthy. He was at Animal House the week before and had a full cleaning and check-up cause PAWS thought he was going to get adopted already.
He met with his potential adoptive mother today. My driver told me she really seems to like him so she's just going to go through the process of getting Constantine on her side before taking her home.
Suddenly, I feel like a parent who's offspring are now going on their own directions. This is what it feels like. Accomplished and very happy for them yet a little sad. *sighs*
