Exit of the Puppy Worms
As of 7:50pm today, Bo's worms are out. I don't know if all his worms are completely flushed out but at least I know that some of them are already out. As gross as it may appear, I looked through Bo's stool using a VERY LONG barbeque stick. I thought the white thingies were just traces of spaghetti but my yaya told me the white thingies were worms. I didn't believe her so I started poking at them. They're white and REALLY LONG and thin. They're weaved through his stool. They're dead but they look really gross so I hope whoever's reading this hadn't just eaten. haha. Constantine's still sleeping. He'll probably have a go at it when he wakes up.
Today I brought Bo and Constantine to the PAWS vet (thank you, Dr. Rick Santos) to have a little check-up. Recently some of Bo's hair on his tail and hind legs has been shedding abnormally so I was worried and decided to bring him, along with Constantine. As I suspected, Bo has an allergy, perhaps cause they keep rough and tumbling on the grass. It's treatable don't worry. Also, they were both de-wormed so I'll be inspecting their stools to see if the worms come out. They were also given anti-allergy/antibiotic shots so all is well. Constantine was quite scared and was crying his heart out when the shot was given. Bo was calmer and just gave out a little yelp. We'll be back next week for a follow-up check up. Dr. Santos informed us that he'll be leaving already for New Zealand but he told me to call first before we go there and hopefully he's still there! ta-ta! More news next time.

ogEaster Photos and Health Report
Health Report
I don't have a weighing scale here at home so I had to find an alternative way of weighing the pups. I used the small weighing scale where my cook weighs her vegetables (haha..oops). Bo and Constantine surprisingly weigh around the same at 1 3/4 kilos (* 2.2 to get weight in pounds). As to their height, Bo is shorter at 6 3/4 inches while Constantine is around 7 inches (I used the measuring tape).
They've been eating Woof Maintenance lately. That's what my dogs like so that's what I've been giving to the pups. I usually give it twice a day but sometimes they eat rice too. They are being given Nutripet vitamins to support their diet. They like to eat Begging Strips which I give to them as a treat when they sit on command (which rarely happens since they're too active). They try to get a piece of my dog's huge biscuits but my dogs won't let them. Other times, they try to push their luck and see if I can give them a piece of cheese.
They've been sleeping less and less and are playing more and more. They like the rough and tumble. They are starting to chew on things too so I'm trying to correct that behavior by giving them the purple toy to chew on. I'm going to get those Dentabones soon for them.
Otherwise, the pups are just fine!
Easter Afternoon
I was doing my hourly check up on the pups when I saw this:
Bo on the Dish
I had to take a photo before Bo can get up. This is actually the 2nd time I saw him do this but I couldn't take a photo of him the first time because he got up immediately as soon as he saw me. I took this photo just in time. As you can see, it isn't a very good picture cause my camera is so slow. The important thing is the moment was captured.
Constantine
As you can see, Constantine is again facing the camera. Constantine is ALWAYS facing the camera. So we can conclude that Constantine is a ham and enjoys having his picture taken. No amazing pose here...but it's a good photo.

Tiny Puppies
It's been almost a month since they got here and I'm really wondering why the pups don't seem to be growing at all. They've been the same size (well, almost) since they got here. The only difference is, they're much stronger and livelier now. Maybe the mom was a small dog? I thought these pups were going to grow up to be medium dogs but it doesn't seem like it. I've never raised small dogs before so I'm used to them shooting up within the 1st month.
Bo is more playful than ever and Constantine is still one big crybaby.

Sorry about the hand. I couldn't get Constantine to face the camera.

Extremely Bothered
I was posting some more ads on online forums about Bo and Constantine when another PAWS volunteer replied and gave me a link to see Bo and Constantine pictures when they first arrived at PAWS. I was really disturbed to find out that they were rescued from a moronic security guard who slaughtered and ate their mother. That is truly disgusting ladies and gentlemen. You do not slaughter dogs (or cats) for food, especially when 5 pups are depending on her. I'm just glad these pups were rescued, if not, I bet that guy would have eaten them as well. It's like eating lechon and conchinilla. This kind of information makes me want to go vegetarian. I'm just having a little trouble giving up steak...sorry mother cow and baby cow.
Anyway, here's the link to that PAWS volunteer's album with Bo and Constantine along with their brothers.

Bath Time
I couldn't stand the wiwi smell which was their smell since I got them so I decided to give them a bath. Of course I used warm water and after that I dried them using the towel and blow drier and made them stay in the hot sun after. Now they smell so much better.
Bo
Constantine
The pups are really getting bossier each day. There I am just eating a snack while watching them and they bark at me, as if demanding me to give them food. And they won't stop unless I give them so now I don't eat in front of them. Hehe.

Another Brother
By the way, Bo and Constantine have another brother but he's living at PAWS. I wasn't able to foster him cause I could only take two at the most due to parental consent. So you can also check him out at the shelter and adopt him. He actually needs to be adopted more than Bo and Constantine so please adopt him if you can.

Favoritism
The pups are playing favoritism now. Bo prefers to hover around me, Constantine likes sticking to my yaya. The reason? My yaya's the one who feeds them. Constantine just wants a full stomach each time. Bo, on the other hand, would rather play.

Adoption Procedure
I decided to post the adoption procedure to make it easier for everyone. It's better to adopt than to buy from a pet shop cause god knows how those pet shops have treated those dogs. If you adopt from PAWS (Philippine Animal Welfare Society), you're assured of the quality of the dogs. And while a dog can cost you thousands and thousands, adopting from PAWS will only cost you P1000 and that includes all the benefits listed below. You can forward to me the adoption application through e-mail if you can't submit it yourself.
Our Adoption procedure is as follows:
Accomplish Adoption Application
Interview by Adoption Counselor
Meeting the pet
On approval, payment of adoption fee *
Spay/neuter of adopted pet (if not already done)
Scheduling of pickup or delivery
Signing of Adoption Agreement
* The Adoption fee is intended to help defray some of the cost of maintaining and preparing your pet for adoption.
Benefits of adopting from PARC:
Spay/neuter surger
De-worming
Rabies vaccination (3 months and older)
Discounted veterinary fees from participating clinics
Free veterinary consultation for your adopted pet
A lifetime companion

Almost A Week
It's almost been a week since I fostered them. They are growing stronger and stronger each day. They are starting to develop personal characteristics. Like Bo is the active one. He's more courageous in terms of discovering her environment. He likes to follow my two dogs who go up and down the stairs. He's not afraid of falling (but I watch her each time she attempts the stairs). He also howls a lot. If he's hungry or wants to piss or make pasyal, he really makes it known.
Constantine is the more reserved one. He's kind of shy and quiet. He's not really into trying new things. Most of the time, he'll just follow Bo. He always hesitates on the stairs even though he wants to follow Bo. He'll howl so that I can push him up. They like to run around the house though. I can't let them loose yet like my other dogs cause there's a gap at the bottom of my gate which they can fit in. My street is a main street so if they get out, there's a huge chance they'll get run over. So right now, I'm just building something to block them from going too far. Here's a photo of them playing on the grass.
Bad news comes from PAWS. Their two siblings have passed away. That's so sad they couldn't make it. My hopes are up for Bo and Constantine. I'm giving them vitamins to combat them from sickness. Until next time!
Constantine is on the left, Bo is on the right. This is their favorite activity...wrestling.

Potty Progress
I just came back from Bukidnon so I wasn't able to watch the two puppies. However, I left strict instructions to my yayas to care for the puppies. It seems that they're doing well. According to one of my yayas, the puppies already know not to pee or poo in their box. She says they cry out loud when they need to go out and automatically proceeds to the grass to do their business. Was extremely proud when I heard that news considering I've only been potty training them for 3 days. My yaya says they also have a healthy appetite so they should be getting bigger and bigger anytime soon.

Changing Names
Okay, I'm changing their names. I really don't like the name Carlo. So I'm going to name them after the current American Idol rock contestants. Carlo=Bo , Martin=Constantine. hehehe!! =)

First Day at Foster Care
Today I came home with two new puppies from Paws. I can't think of a good name right now so I've decided to call them Carlo and Martin for now(yes, after the Lovers in Paris characters). They're going to be with me until May until such time that they're big and healthy and ready to be adopted. I'm using this blog so that everyone can see their progress as well as get to know them.
When I reached home, the first thing I did was feed them milk through the bottle. They sure were hungry. The makulit one with the white streaks is named Carlo and he was just sucking away. The other one Martin was also hungry but after a while, he was full and just decided to explore his new environment. My two dogs, Maddy and Mackie, were very curious about the new dogs so I let them get acquainted. Initially, I was afraid my two dogs would bite them cause they have a tendency to get jealous so I was glad when I saw my dogs sniffing the puppies. Anyway, I made Carlo and Martin stay first by the grass to let them know the area where they are supposed to do their daily business. I read somewhere that the first thing you do when you bring a puppy home is let them release waste in their designated area. That way, they'll go back to that area each time and not poo all over the house. I don't know how true that is though. I'm going to try to house-break them so that if they're adopted, their owners won't worry about them wrecking the house. After they ate, I let them rest and went up to make this blog. When I came back to take pictures, they were asleep already. Here are their first pictures.
